Old Marshalls and Voxs are especially hissy. In this case the wart is hiss and yes some of the models sound like a punctured bicycle tire when cranked because that's exactly what the amps it was based on sounded like. So you get the real thing, warts and all.

It's because Guitar Rig is a true modeler meaning your are hearing a software reproduction of the effects on your waveform of a real world amp. So, since I have heard some recordings of other people using guitar plug-ins with a decent result in gain saturation, my question is: how do you control the noise generated by the plug-in itself?īy tweaking maybe.? I have tried all I have thought of but with no satisfactory result yet. But it really sounds like a rough digital mesh. I think I can interpret that noise as an exagerated version of the electrical activity made by a real amp genarated by the plugin in order to render the sound more realistic. I have tried EQs and filters bofore and after the plug-in but the noise is there always. Damn, the thing starts boiling up all the audio signal. As soon as I turn on the Amp plug-in with a crunchy preset for example.

I already have my audio clips (no effects, eq or compression) Just the guitar into my DAW. It was a more reliable guitar to record with than those others with humbuckers. My guitar is not catching those interfering frecuncies at all. On the contrary, I have already recorded my guitars and since I played a music man with a Music Man® Silent Circuit I got rid of that problem completly. My guess is your signal is too hot, or there are some frequencies coming through from your guitar or interface that are not audible when clean but the amp sims are emphasising.I am not having that hot signal issue. Is your signal in to your scarlette too hot? What level does it record at in your DAW before you put on any amp sim? Are there any strange frequencies coming through from the guitar that the amp sims are just picking up on? How clean is your guitar? What settings are you using in Guitar Rig? I use that quite a lot - plug my guitar straight to my interface, to DAW, to Guitar Rig (or Amplitube, or Revalver or whatever) and never get the noise you seem to be describing. What to you do to tame that damn noise?I have the same issue - I think it's electrical as I do get a faint buzz when plugged in.

What a big mistake I started to think of now. I used to record with an axe fx and things were not that messy even when I barely tweaked the factory presets. I have tried aggressive use of EQ, noise reduction plugin, Gates (which makes nothing 'cause as I said my direct signal is clean) but nothing seems to reduce that nose made by this amp simulation. Then, when the signal goes into either a GTR amp or any other from Guitar Rig the audio signal comes out yelling at me like a damn bitch!!! My recordings become a complete digital mess specially when mixing all instruments together. Then I add some eq before any compression to eliminate the frequencies that may push it further. The direct signal from my guitar goes into my Focusrite scarlette 214 and it is all clean.

I am wandering if there is a way to make the noise make by those amp simulator plugins go away, specially when you use more gain or any other type of distortion.
